Cloudpen started from a simple observation: cloud IDEs were built for developers who already had everything — a fast laptop, a stable connection, multiple paid subscriptions. We built for everyone else, and now you can write, test and ship websites, backends, smart contracts, browser extensions and mobile apps from a single tab.

The tools that make developers productive — VS Code, GitHub, Vercel, Copilot — cost $60–80/month combined and require a capable machine. That excludes a huge portion of the world's developers.
Cloudpen runs on a $150 Android phone. It costs $12/month for the full Pro experience, including full-stack deployment, hosted MySQL, extension testing and mobile app preview. Every feature we build, we ask: does this work on mobile? Does this work on a slow connection? We're not chasing enterprise contracts — we're building for the developer in Lagos, Hanoi, and São Paulo who builds serious things with whatever device they have.
"The best development environment shouldn't require the best hardware. It should just require a browser."

30 million developers globally can't afford a MacBook Pro or a $60/month toolchain. We priced and designed Cloudpen for them — not just Silicon Valley.
Every developer deserves VS Code + GitHub + Vercel + Copilot functionality, and now a real browser for extension testing and a phone simulator too. We just think it shouldn't require a pile of accounts, credit cards, and an afternoon of configuration.
No ads. No selling your data. No AI trained on your code. No feature gates designed to annoy you into upgrading. We charge a fair price and do the work.
Two engineers frustrated with cloud IDEs that didn't work on mobile started building Cloudpen from scratch.
First 50 users get access. Mobile-first design validated — 40% of signups code primarily on phones.
One-click repo import and webhook auto-sync launched. Deploys that once took 20 minutes now take 10 seconds.
Built-in AI assistant ships. Unique to Cloudpen — it's aware of your current file and project, not a bolt-on chatbot.
Cloudpen opens to everyone. Free plan with no time limit. Pro at $12/month — less than Copilot alone.
Quill can query live backends like Supabase and Postgres, and Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor can read and write your projects through the Cloudpen MCP server.
Deploy Laravel and PHP backends with a hosted MySQL database, or push a Solidity contract to a Sepolia testnet — no separate hosting account or RPC signup.
Run a browser extension in a real browser session, and build Flutter apps with a built-in mobile simulator. Both live in the same editor.
React Native and Expo device preview, plus more capacity for extension testing as we measure real-world load, are next on the roadmap.
